Knit with two colours, one for the 4” rib and another for the body, using the contrast yarn for the buttonband and edge crochet.

5 buttons 1” in diameter suggested.

“Choosing two appropriate colors can be challenging as this simple bicolor vest works as a season-spanning piece. Experiment with which color you plan to use for color A and for color B. Darker shades around the waist and hip area are more flattering.

If crochet isn’t your thing, make a quick alternate band by picking up the stitches along the edges and knitting one row and then binding off in the next row. (For a cleaner pickup, work the first row in the color of the piece and change to the contrasting color on the next row.)“

For the pattern it suggests 3(3,4,4,4,5) balls of color A and 4(5,5,6,7,8) for color B.
