This elegant scarf is mainly in garter stitch, with a lace edging of “pearls” that start small, increase in size to the middle of the shawl, and then decrease in size again. The scarf itself also starts small, increases to the middle, and decreases. The ends have a long triangular shape, with a rectangular center section. The pearls form a scalloped lace edge.

The pattern uses between 325 and 400 yards of fingering to sport weight yarn. It is very easy to adjust the pattern to be longer or shorter by adding or removing repeats of any of the 5 charts.

The pattern is both charted and written.

The pearls are based on the Cogwheel pattern from Barbara Walker’s 3rd Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
