Colourwork socks are so much fun! The possibilities are endless.. There are so many stitch patterns to choose from, so many yarns to combine.. and they’re a very entertaining knit as well. It’s important to pay attention to the chart though, as it is easy to slip and make a mistake.

This pattern will be fun for experienced colourwork knitters as well as newbies.

Sizes available
EU 35-47, also including even more customizable options for sizing

Yarn
Uses approx 30-40grams of selfstriping yarn, approx 30 grams of contrasting yarn for the colourwork, and approx 15 grams of contrasting yarn for the toe and cuff. This depends on your size of course. These socks would be great for leftovers (scraps)!

Needle Size
You will need at least 2 different needle sizes to make up for the difference in gauge between regular and colourwork knitting.

Construction
Toe up, German Short Row heel (written + video instructions included) and 1x1 ribbed cuff.

What other Ravelers say about this pattern:

“The pattern is addictive!!! When you start knitting you will not stop until the socks are ready. While knitting you think of another pair to knit. It’s a very good pattern for knitters who start with colourwork. You can try out a lot of charts.”

“Loved this pattern!!”

“If knitting self striping socks is potato chippy, then this pattern is like knitting stripes on drugs, so addictive!”

“The sock pattern itself is so easy to memorise that it will now become my regular sock recipe for vanilla socks. The colour work pattern suggestions are more than enough to create a unique pair of socks every time you choose to knit them.”
