The multicolored merino was lying next to some wool mohair in different colors in my stash. It was a perfect combination. Given the amount of merino I decided to knit a buttoned cowl, developing the pattern along the way. The result is so great that I want share with you what I did.

What you need is two knitting needles number 5 (US 8), four buttons Ø 0.7 in / 1.8 cm, and 240 yd / 220 m of yarn (about 132 yd / 120 m multicolor merino, 40 yd / 36 m seagreen, 36 yd / 33 m soft pink and 29 yd / 26 m fuchsia).
