From Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker:

Get your stripe on!  This pattern is perfect for beginning hookers because you only use two stitches:  single crochet and slip stitch.  The more experienced will enjoy how quickly this project works up:  You can create a new scarf and belt with each season’s must-have colors!  The combination of a mostly cotton yarn and a single crochet stitch makes for very strong fabric.  If you follow the simple conversion instructions, you can turn the scarf into a sturdy belt or guitar strap.

Note on yardage:  1 skein of each color will be enough to make 2 scarves if you use A, B, or C for the wider stripe instead of D on the second scarf.
