I love a basic sock. A sock that works up in just a few hours and is simple enough to take my mind off my troubles of the day. If you’ve been looking for the same thing…you’re in luck!

I’ve decided to share my favorite cuff down/toe up sock pattern I use for gifts/samples/class instruction. They are worked from the cuff down with a heel flap and star toe (thats just a fancy word for decreasing like the top of a hat)!

The pattern in 6 pages long and includes detailed instructions and photos of each process. From making a cuff to toe you will be walked through the ins and outs of sock making!

The pattern is written for beginners and advance crocheters alike! Use any light worsted/DK/Sport weight yarn you desire…just make sure your gauge is just about right. Do keep in mind that socks are meant to be worn tight to the foot with negative ease so a gauge that is a bit tighter is okay!

One other thing to think about…when finished with these socks you’ll find they are a bit stiff. Thats the nature of crochet. Simply throw them in the washer and they’ll soften right up! Of course if using a fiber that felts take care to read the label!
