Sty Head Tarn is different things to different people – a welcome first break for tea and sandwiches before a more challenging mountain ascent, or a destination in itself. A chance to sit and experience the glorious mountains surrounding the area. The broad rippling cables evoke the ripples often seen in this sheltered, yet exposed tarn.
This sock is worked with a traditional gusset heel flap and is fully customisable in terms of length – further pattern repeats may be added as required, and width – additional ribbing may be added at the sides to fit a slightly wider foot. The unisex cable pattern and flexible pattern repeats make it an ideal sock for gift knitting.

As with many of my patterns, this sock is offered in both toe-up and cuff down versions. Please select the version you would like after checkout.

Many thanks for your interest in my patterns - knit strong and have warm feet!
