We couldn’t let the 10th year of VKLNY pass without a pattern and exclusive kit for the show! This time Woolyn has hooked up with local dyer Murky Depths to make the Subway Stairs Scarf.

In attractive, yet simple, mosaic knitting, Murky’s deep colors are the star of the show for this scarf with. A scarf that borrows shaping from shawls, the mitered center to the scarf means it will hang nicely around your neck with a decorative focus. Or, make it wider and wear it like a traditional shawl over your shoulders.

If you’ve always wanted to try color work, but feel intimidated - this mosaic pattern is just perfect for you! Only one color is used on each row so you can just knit as you always do without making any adjustments. And if you’re a pro at working with more than one color, this is an interesting and relaxing knit.

Be sure to read all the pattern notes before starting as they explain the techniques you will need to use.
