Sugarleaf’s body is worked back and forth in one piece, from the top’s face-framing circular yoke colourwork section down. Sleeves are picked up after the body is worked and knit seamlessly from underarms to the cuff. The cuffs and hem are trimmed with a garter rib, and a simple I-cord bind-off along the fronts and neck of the cardigan makes a tidy edging. Melissa Jean Design toggle buttons made from rich, smooth rosewood strike a lovely balance between rustic and sophisticated.

Yarn
Sugarleaf is worked in a woolen-spun wool yarn that blooms beautifully when washed, giving the colourwork yoke a smooth, unified look and the body of the sweater a cozy feel.
