It started simply enough. The Kangaroo Dyer presented me with a skein of hand-painted sparkly yarn. I started swatching and the next thing you know I had socks. But not just any socks. These are socks with bits of shimmer and sparkle, with rich plums and reds moving across them. The stitch pattern compliments the richness of the color-way. Eye of Partridge heels bordered with garter stitch add visual interest. Then I had a little visitor who fell in love with the yarn. It made her smile. I, being in love with the visitor, had to make a second pair of socks but much smaller this time, for the tiny toes of my beautiful granddaughter. So now there’s a pair - two patterns in one - Sugarplums and Fairy Toes!
