Using only a half skein of sock yarn, this is a lightweight and airy cowl for cool summer evenings. It knits up quickly on large needles in the round. The twisted stitches and bias knit give it some stretch and texture.

Materials:
US Size 7 (4.5mm) 24” circular needle
Approx. 200 yds of a fingering weight yarn
Round marker, embroidery needle

Finished size:
42” circumference (blocked) and 7” tall
This size uses about 200 yds of yarn and loops around the neck twice. Easily customize and modify by casting on more stitches for more neck loops or knitting longer for a taller cowl.

Gauge:
18 sts and 32 rows= 4”/10 cm in pattern stitch

Level:
Advanced beginner. Uses only YO, SSK, and Ktbl

Cast off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Cast Off(http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php)

Both sides are textured; see what you prefer.
