A range of ocean blues weaves through a bouquet of rosy blossom hues. Easy stockinette stitch and simple diamonds put these vibrant summer colors on display. This shawl is sure to brighten your outfit and your mood, whether you wear it as a cover-up on a cool summer night or as an extra layer on a gray, winter day.

If you are comfortable with decreasing and picking up stitches, you’ll find this an easy pattern. (If you’re not yet comfortable with these techniques, you certainly will be by the end!) Diamonds are “joined” as the knitter picks up stitches in the lower row of motifs. Picking up stitches may be slow going at first, but it makes for much less finishing at the end of the project – no seams!

I’ve included the yarn colors for the version shown, as well as yarn colors for three alternate color ways in the photos.
