Summer Festival
Summer Festival is about capturing the essence of Summer. Throw it on for comfort and warmth at your favourite music festival. Then relive the memory every time you slip it on for the rest of the year.
Knit top-down and seamlessly, this lightweight and easy to wear cardigan is the perfect long lounging cardie for slinging on over anything! Deep pockets and a circular lace motif evoking Summertime memories of Catherine wheels and ferris wheels, make it eye-catching yet casual.
Construction:
Summer Festival is a seamless knit worked from the top down. The bodice is constructed using traditional seamless raglan increases. However, initially only the shoulder and back sections are worked. The front sections of the cardigan are picked up later along the edge created by the front raglan shaping. These stitches are worked down with the back to create the garment’s body.
Both charts and instructions are included for the lace sections.

The related pattern Summer Carnival is a cropped version of this cardie, much like a 50s bolero. The raglan shaping, bodice and sleeves are worked slightly differently in each of these patterns to cater for the different fit and ease in the different style of sleeves.
The final two patterns are children’s versions of these two patterns; Carousel and Ferris Wheel.
