Summer Flies
Please note: this pattern is not available for free anymore
The Summer Flies pattern was originally published in June of 2010 as a free pattern. Due to its’ popularity we developed the Holly and Ella Knits website to answer the flood of questions and comments we received on the pattern. The website was developed and maintained by a former family member (long story). In March of 2012, the Holly and Ella Knits website was lost. We tried desperately to revive it, but to no avail. We have been plugging along almost a year without a website and are continuously being asked when it will be back up and running. We are hoping we will generate some funds through the sale of our original pattern to develop a new Holly and Ella Knits website that will be better than ever.
Along with the pattern (in all languages) we have also included a Q&A of most asked questions and helpful notes. When you purchase this pattern you get ALL the documents.
Thank you so much!
Happy Knitting!

A special THANK YOU to Sylvie Periard “LaChoup”, Valérie “Little Mouse”, and Muriel for all your help!
My how summer flies by, but this lacy summer shawl is the perfect accessory to cover bare shoulders on a breezy summer evening. The butterfly and lace motif are accented by a knotted openwork trellis, reminiscent of butterflies happily fluttering through your summer garden.
This shawl is worked by sections with increases made only on the right side rows. This creates a gentle curve for a shallow half round shawl. I recommend using natural plant fiber yarn in a DK or worsted weight, but you may use any DK or worsted weight yarn you wish.
