This is a very open work lace pattern done on largish needles with a large diamond fringe attached. This pattern contains no purling and no “rest” rows.

Abbreviations: 
CO: cast on 
DL: drop loop – knit into first loop of yo2x of the row below, 
then drop the second loop off the left hand needles without 
knitting it. 
k: knit 
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together 
yo2x: double yarn over; yarn over twice without knitting a 
stitch between.
