The Summer Zinnia Shawl started as a collaboration between two friends who both loved to garden and in particular, loved Zinnias because of the many colors. One friend loved to knit and one loved to crochet. They came together to design a colorful shawl that combines the best of knitting and crochet techniques in a pattern that would duplicate the many colors of Zinnias.

This pattern is more of a recipe than strict directions on how to duplicate the Zinnia Shawl. While directions are included on how to knit and crochet each part of the shawl, the pattern is very flexible and will allow you many opportunities to make it your own.

You will need experience in both knitting and crochet. Some of the techniques included are:

Knitting: casting on, knit, purl, picking up and attaching stitches, three needle bind off, backwards loop cast on, and garter tab cast on.

Crochet: Single, double, and treble crochet.
