My inspiration for this shawl design comes from the Shakespearean Sonnet that contains the line, “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day, thou art more lovely…. I know there will be times when I will just want to wrap myself in a summer’s day. It is knitted from the top down in a very simple flower stitch that is repeated in the top border and centre panel. This flower stitch also appears in the bottom ruffle which is lightly beaded (optional).
