This pretty triangular lace shawl is perfect for a summer evening, or for adding a touch of sparkle to your party outfit in any season. It is worked from the top down, beginning with a garter tab. Beading is optional (although strongly encouraged!).

The finished shawl has a wingspan of 54”, and is 17” deep at the centre point. Pattern gauge is measured in terms of one single repeat of Chart B, which should measure 1 ¼” wide by 1 ½” high (3cm wide by 4cm high) after blocking. It is not essential to achieve exact gauge but it may affect your yardage requirements if you don’t.

The pattern is meant for experienced or adventurous intermediate knitters. Each chart only shows one half of each row. You should work all chart rows from right to left across the first half of the shawl and then back from left to right on the second half of the row to create a mirror image. The lace pattern is charted only, no written instructions.

You will need:
375 yards (343m) light fingering weight yarn
3.75mm (US 5) knitting needles
4 stitch markers
If adding beads: 562 size 8/0 seed beads
:0.75mm crochet hook for adding beads to work

Darning needle

You need to be able to: read charts (lace pattern is charted only) and to be able to work the chart from right to left then from left to right, work common increases and decreases (YO, SSK, K2tog, double decreases), work a garter tab start, if beading, add beads to work using crochet hook method
