Sun Ray Play.

From the pattern:

The Sun Ray Shawl is a top-down, triangular shawl in 2 mirror image sections. The Sun Ray motif is a modified Ivy pattern from Barbara Walker’s Charted Knitting Designs: A Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns, p.154. Ivy pattern has a 10 row repeat and Sun Ray pattern has a 20 row repeat – all even number rows (wrong side return rows) are purled. The basic structure of the shawl is very simple. On the same row, the single decrease stitch is always in the same direction on one side (right) and mirror image on the other side (left). Therefore, it is a good beginner’s shawl.

Originally offered by elann.com as a free pattern. Visit international.elann.com to see currently available free patterns.

Over the years elann.com has offered a variety of free patterns to showcase elann brand yarns – this was one of them. As elann’s new site, international.elann.com, develops, many of these longtime favorite designs will be re-formatted and made available for purchase. This will be a time-consuming process, which we hope to accomplish by the end of 2015, so we ask for your patience.

Throughout this process, on a rotating basis, we’ll be offering 6 free patterns per month at international.elann.com. They’ll be free for one month, and then subsequently available for purchase as .pdf downloads. We encourage you to visit international.elann.com often to see our latest offerings.
