A stunning blanket with radiating bands of colour culminating in ‘sun-ray’ points, cleverly designed to avoid having to sew in many ends of yarn!

Equally at home as a floor covering for your baby to lie on or as a means of swaddling your baby.

Finished dimensions: around 90cm / 35” point to point

Number of pages: 6
Language: English only
Time required: around 15 hours
Difficulty: Intermediate (knowledge of knitting a small circumference in the round using magic loop or double pointed needles)

Needles: You will need a range of lengths of US 7 / UK 7 / 4.5 mm needles, from either double pointed needles or a circular at least 65cm / 26” long for magic loop at the start to around 150cm / 60” by the end.

Suggested yarn: Any aran or worsted weight yarn - preferably cotton (even better if it’s organic or recycled).

ECO CREDENTIALS: knitting this blanket in natural, biodegradable yarn means it won’t add to the excess plastic in the world once it’s eventually no longer useable. Using cotton means it’s machine washable (very useful for baby items!) but still natural. It could also be knitted in a sustainably produced wool but that’s unlikely to be as easily washable.

You can of course knit it in acrylic yarn, but please think of the environmental impact.
