A friend asked me if I could make a “baggy slouchy” hat for her husband. It seems that her 70+ year old husband saw a young man sporting such a hat and he decided what he wanted most in the world was to have one too!

I had some light gray acrylic yarn in my stash and Richard, the husband, told me that would be fine. So mid-morning on a Sunday I casted on stitches and by dinner time, the hat was done.

Hence the name: Sunday Slouchy Hat!

If you are able to knit in the round you can easily make this hat. For the rib, I decided on the Seeded Rib Stitch, which is a fun stitch I often use in hats and socks. To add a bit of texture on the body of the hat, I made a textured stripe with rounds of garter stitch.

This is a great hat for the Cool Dude of any age, but also for the Cool Chick! The Cool Kid too! So I designed two sizes, one a size suitable for school age children and size Small adults and the other for size Medium/Large adults.

I want my buyers to be happy and have a great time working on my designs, so if you have any questions, please contact me at the Email provided on the pattern. I always get back to my buyers promptly.

Thank you!
