I had a HUGE flower garden last summer. As winter came, I found myself knitting flowers. The flower pillows are a great way to change the look of a room without the hassle of painting or moving the furniture. Pillows make a great gift idea too. I like using 2 contrasting yarns for front and back. A simple stockinette front shows off the flower design. The patterned back is a great way to experiment with texture. The square pillow form shows off a bead-work trim. I use Crochet Beaded Cord (CBC) for trim on many of my designs. Here is it used for both the center button and trim. Most knitters find the CBC very easy to make and attach (pattern included). You can purchase just the Crochet Bead Cord Button Pattern separately. Sunflower’s could be appliqued on other items such as sweaters. If used on garments, I do recommend that the buttons be removed before washing as they are made from glass beads.
