Sunny T-shirt has a seamless, top down construction, with yoke increases incorporated in the stitch pattern. The body is shaped by changing needle size, and its length can be easily adjusted. There are three sleeve length options: long, short and 3/4.
Ostrich Plumes lace is easier to knit than it looks - you only work the lace pattern every 4th row, the remaining rows being plain stockinette stitch rows.

The pattern consists of 4 pdf files:
1-Charted version, all sizes,
2-Written instructions, sizes 1-5 years,
3-Written instructions, sizes 6-11 years,
4-Techniques (containing information on blocking and photo tutorials on short rows and provisional CO).

Skill level:
You need to be able to work in the round, use provisional CO, and work a lace pattern. You will need to work 4 short rows.

Sizes: 1-1.5 (2-3, 4-5) 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 years. Shown in size 4-5 years.

Finished chest measurements:
56 (60, 64) 70, 75, 80 cm,
22 (23.5, 25) 27.5, 29.5, 31.5 in.

Yarn:
4 ply, sport or DK yarn - depending on the gauge required for your size, and desired effect. The lighter the yarn, the more lacy the t-shirt will be.
Sizes 1-1.5 and 6-7 years: 4 ply yarn.
Sizes 2-3 and 8-9 years: light DK, sport or 4 ply yarn.
Size 4-5 and 10-11 years: DK, sport or 4 ply yarn.

You can use cotton, acrylic or wool. Blocking is the easiest in cotton, if you use acrylic, steam blocking will be necessary.

Yarn amount for long sleeved sweater: 500 (500, 500) 800, 900, 900 metres/ 550 (550, 550) 880, 990, 990 yards.
Yarn amount for short sleeved t-shirt: 400 (400, 400) 600, 600, 600 metres/ 440 (440, 440) 660, 660, 660 yards.

Gauge:
Different sizes are worked at different gauges.
1 pattern repeat (16 sts x 32 rows) in ostrich plumes st, with main needle, after blocking =

1-1.5 and 6-7 years: 7 cm x approx 10 cm (width x length),
2-3 and 8-9 years: 7.5 cm x approx 11 cm,
4-5 and 10-11 years: 8 cm x approx 12 cm.

The correct stitch gauge is essential to obtain the correct size - the row gauge can vary slightly. Take time to make a gauge swatch. Adjust needle size, if necessary.
