Sunrays On My Mind is a heart-shaped (curved triangle) shawl striped with a combination of twisted stitch columns and diagonal lines of lace flanking a wide central spine. The design is finished with a wide sideways edging featuring eyelet zigzags. Make the shawl in any weight of yarn to bring rays of sunshine into the chilliest day.

The piece is worked flat from the top down. The pattern is provided in charted form only. Gauge is not critical - the shawl can be worked in any yarn with appropriate needles, as long as you keep in mind that yardage will be affected. The pattern includes instructions for both worsted and fingering weight versions.

For the fingering weight multicolor shawl shown, 420 yd (385 m) finished introductory section plus almost 2 repeats. As shown, the cream shawl used two entire skeins of Natural with approx 1.5 yd left over. The border used slightly less than one skein of Tangerine.

Skills Needed: Following a lace pattern, reading a chart.
