This cardigan style sweater is worked from the collar down in the gathered stitch pattern between the front button bands, which are worked in line with the body. The body is shaped using raglan increases and worked in stockinette stitch with the exception of the back panel, which is continued in the gathered stitch pattern from the collar. Sleeve stitches are set aside while the remainder of the body is knit and then finished last and in the round. Be mindful of any difference in your gauge knitting in the round versus knitting flat as this will affect the finish of your sleeves.
