Knitted from the top down and increasing at the edges and down middle spine stitch this is an simple knit for adventurous beginners.

This is a good pattern to practice using a circular needle (80cm would be a good length).

Remember you are knitting back and forth on the circular needle. You are are not knitting a tube.

A great way to practice yarn overs to make holes on purpose! And it is easy to adapt - add more or less eyelets, make it smaller or bigger. REMEMBER making changes to the pattern may mean you will need more or less yarn!

This small 4ply version uses Socks Yeah! The yarn is very soft and is perfect to wear around your neck. Uses one 50g hank.

The shawl is small (40x115cm) but if you’d prefer it bigger simply use more yarn and add more repeats of either the stocking stitch section or the eyelets or indeed both! Details in our new pattern compilation
