Stephen Colbert fans will understand this pattern’s name. The Superbowl people would have sued The Colbert Report for copyright infringement if they used the term “Superbowl” without permission. So, the brilliant people at “The Report” came up with this great alternative, and it lined up with my designing the owl hat. Turns out knitters are crazy for owls, so I then worked up patterns for Owl mitts and an Owl felted bag. Then Lyns88 asked for an owl cowl. What a hoot! Great cowl, too! The Cowl can be knitted as wide and as long as you want. Knit it 48” around and you can double it and wear it as a neck warmer. Because it is stranded and knit in-the-round, it has extra wool layers for cozy warmth.
