Pattern description

When Deena was pregnant with her third child, she decided to knit the new baby a hooded cardigan with a garter border from The Yarn Girls’ Guide to Kid Knits. Her oldest daughter, Rena, saw her knitting and automatically thought the sweater was for her. When Deena finished the project, she held it up to show her husband, Alex, and Rena’s eyes filled with tears. She said, “I love it, but, Mom, it’s too small for me.” Deena explained that the pattern book was for babies. She called us the next day and asked us to write the pattern for a bigger size to fit Rena.

Yarn is worked double throughout the sweater--this means you should hold 2 strands of yarn together as though they are 1.
