Have you been wanting to try making Blanket Buddies but you’re not sure you want to attempt the amigurumi “buddy” part? Then this is the pattern for you!

Included here is the pattern for making the blanket part of the Blanket Buddy. You work the beginning of the blanket around an elastic hair tie (or fabric covered rubber band) that is then put on a stuffed toy of your choice. The blanket can be removed for cleaning or to swap out the buddy for another favorite from the kids’ collection.

This Blanket Buddy works up to a nice carseat blanket size, perfect for dragging behind a toddler on all their adventures or to be squished up and snuggled with at bedtime. The stitches used in the pattern include sc, hdc, dc, and chain.

This pattern is a SpicyTuesday original…accept no substitute!

Each of my patterns are independently tested to ensure that they are easy enough to work up whether you’ve been crocheting for 20 minutes or 20 years. And as always, if you have any questions about anything in the pattern, please contact me and I’ll do my best to get them answered for you.

This listing is for pattern only. The Ty brand stuffed animals shown in the pictures are for reference only.

You have my permission to sell any blanket you make from this pattern (of course you can, it’s your blanket!). I’d love a link back to this pattern if you sell online. But PLEASE do not sell, distribute, or rewrite-and-call-your-own this pattern or any part of it to anyone at any time (of course you won’t, because it’s mine). I spend a bunch of time making up and testing my patterns and getting them ready to share…please respect this so I can keep on doing it! Thanks!
