I started out making these stylish little mittens to sell in my store. I then got more into selling patterns and this is the first one that I had for sale in my personal pattern line, so it is a favorite ;). The name is “Sweet Little Mittens” with the emphasis on the “Sweet” as in cool or awesome. I’ve made these for my own baby and given them away as gifts to tons of friends at their baby showers. They are so quick to make, and make an impressive gift attached together with a bit of ribbon and a care tag. They also make a fabulous charity project…whip some up by your self or with a group to donate to a homeless shelter, orphanage, or care center for infants in crisis.

These are thumbless baby mittens with a chic oversized crocheted “button” for embellishment. The ribbed cuff is extra long to help keep the mittens on. It is written in sizes 0 to 3 mo, 3 to 6 mo, 6 to 12 mo, 12 to 24 mo, and 2 to 3 yr. The difficulty level of this pattern is “Easy”, so feel free to chat with friends or watch your favorite movie while you work.

The yarn used in the pattern is Mission Falls 1824 Wool, which is a heavy worsted weight, 100% Superwash wool (and so soft!). 1 skein is needed for the main color, and only about 12 yds are needed to make the two buttons, so you could easily use a scrap from your stash and make this a 1 skein project! This pattern makes a soft, warm, and stylish pair of mittens. Below is a link to the online shadecard on the manufacturer’s website:

You may substitute yarns, but remember that it is best to use a yarn with the same gauge, weight, and fiber content. Also, whichever yarn you use, remember to check your gauge carefully for best results.

Remember, this listing is for a .pdf file of the pattern, and NOT for a finished set of mittens.
