Sweet Little Owlets
Super cute little owlet keyrings knitted with hardy, rustic yarn which lasts for ages with no pilling.
Knitted in one piece so not too much fiddly stitching up.
Make them in as many colours as you like - great little gifts.
A simple pattern but using some advanced skills.
Each owlet uses approx 3g.
Use a contrast colour for the beak.
If you’re not using the recommended yarn, I would suggest opting for something as hard-wearing as possible as your keyring is going to get a lot of wear and tear.
You can use DK, Sportweight or two strands of 4ply held together. The weight of the yarn affects the finished size.
You’ll also need:
A circular needle and an extra DPN in given size.
2 tiny buttons
1 snake chain key ring
darning needle
sewing needle and thread
stuffing
Skills needed (useful online tutorials suggested in the pattern):
Judy’s Magic Cast-on
Magic Loop
Three-needle bind off
I have created a YouTube video for the shaping of the ears to support the pattern should you need it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfdd_ga8eZg&t=66s
Finished size
Owl without keyring knitted with Voluptuous - approx. 4.5cm wide by 3.5cm tall.
