The inspiration for these cable socks emerged from a moment of wonder and the desire to capture the essence of life combined with science.

The Swirling Life Socks features a cable motif on the front of the leg, resembling a helical strand of DNA. A smaller spiral cable weaves between the ribbing, and the back of the leg reveals a cable pattern that is surprisingly straight forward despite its intricate appearance. The socks are worked top down with a heel flap and gusset decrease. There is also a small ribbing detail on the gusset.

The pattern provides a lot of stretch, and the socks are meant to be worn with approx 1–1.5” negative ease.

Instructions are given for Magic Loop or two circular needles technique, thus referring to Needle 1 and 2.
