This was easily done with leftover yarn. The whole skein of Red Heart easily accommodated the skirt, a hat and poncho doll size, and a hat for my daughter with some leftover.

This skirt is super fast and easy to work up. It creates a lovely tulip shape with a swirl through it. A great addition to any 18” doll set.

Please note that this pattern is only for the skirt. I got the patterns for the hats and poncho from other Ravelers.

Use an H hook for your stitches. Mine are somewhat tighter than most so you may need to change accordingly. Use the gauge if you have any problems.

I plan on trying this with a thinner sock weight yarn in which case I will double my original 40 stitches to 80. The rows would have to continue in the same vein for more rows before they could be widened for the scallops. I think will produce a really cute skirt as well with the same result, only a little finer.

The poncho can be found under Janice Helge with the title “Crocheted Vintage 1970’s Doll Poncho”. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-vintage... The matching hats are Butterfly Hats by Valerie Whitten under “Sara’s Butterfly (Doll size of Olivia’s Butterfly). She has a link right on her ravelry listing for the child size hat as well.Child size: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/olivias-butterfly
