The Mandarin Fish (Synchiropus splendidus) is one of the most beautiful fish found in the Pacific Ocean. While its colourfully striped body displays undulating lines of orange, blue and green, we’ve added a few extra bright colours to this striped blanket / play rug.

Worked in a wonderfully practical, chunky yarn, it’s not only a delight of colour but a quick knit as well. Knit as shown or create your own glorious colour combinations!

Yarn Required
1 skein each of:

  • Hot Lime {MC}
  • Too Purple {CC1}
  • True Yellow {CC2}

Yarn Note: Please note that Bernat changed the Bernat Softee Chunky yarn from a Bulky to a Super Bulky in 2013. Please be sure to choose an alternate yarn that works to the given gauge.

Companion Pattern
The Marching Bunnies Hat pattern (sized from infant to adult) is a companion piece. These two designs are variations on a theme with the blanket using a more textured version of the stitch pattern.
With one skein of each of the recommended yarn colours, there is enough yarn to make the blanket and at least one hat.
