Honoring the day of publication Cinco de Mayo as well as the chance to knit this up for National Taco Day on October 4!

I love tacos! I love nachos and burritos and quesadillas. I have wanted to design this basic tee for a couple of years now and I hope there are a couple knitters out there who also might like to proclaim their love of Mexican food. Enjoy!

This circular yoke sweater knit from the bottom up is intended to trick the eye into thinking there is a bit of fairisle knitting going on at the yoke but on closer inspection you see that the word Tacos and a pictorial representation of actual tacos is incorporated into your knitting. Choose high contrast yarns to shout your love or low contrast as in the sample knit to get the effect you enjoy best.

Yarn: YARN: Sport weight 5 (6, 7, 7, 8)(10, 11, 12, 13) in MC
@ 135 yds/123 m per 50 g skein.

Sample 1 (Size 42” bust, actual size 43.5) was knit with Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton Fine 100% cotton) in colorway 3706 delphinium as the MC; and less than .5 skein of each of 3823 tomato; 3825 peridot; 3812 apricot; 3798 suede as contrast colors.

A second sample was knit in Rowan felted Tweed DK and photos will be added to this page soon.

The sweater is intended to be worn with positive ease. 1.5 inches is allowed in each size. Knit one size larger for a roomier tee.

Pattern was tech edited by Ellen Silva. Graphic Design and layout by Erica Gunn. Test Knitter was Stacie Berard and the model is Johanna Johnson.
