This quick heart-shaped shawlette is the perfect size and shape for a touch of warmth and a classy accent to wear at your neck.

Bring out the beauty in a single skein of hand painted or other special yarn by combining it with a hardworking standard like Knitpicks Palette. A small amount of a third accent color finishes off the look.

The flirty tassels make this an eye catcher that is also fun to wear. Tassel pieces are knitted separately and sewn together then attached to shawl corners.

The bottom edge is finished with an applied i-cord edge.

Materials Needed
Sample Shawl was made with:
•1 ball Knitpicks Palette (100% Peruvian Highland Wool, 231yds/50g, fingering weight); Color A: mustard. Color B: Eggplant @ 50yds.
•1 ball Taj Mahal (70% wool, 22% silk, 8% cashmere, 96yds /25g, sportweight); Color C

The shawl is knit from the top down and can easily be resized to utilize the amount of yarn available.

•Size 6 (3.5mm) needles
•Yarn needle
•Small amount of fiber fill for stuffing tassels.

Matching exact gauge is not critical for this shawl; however, it will affect the size of the finished piece and required yardage.

Pattern Note: Several knitters have indicated they’d like to tidy up the top edge. An optional i-cord edge can be worked to match the bottom by picking up one stitch in each of the garter stitch bumps then follow the directions for the i-cord edge. A crocheted edge could also be worked.
