I fell in love with these cables while designing my Tom and Jerry Hats in YOTH’s Big Sister, and I just wasn’t ready to let them go. They are fun to work and have a unique, delicate shape that I just love. So Talisker was an excuse to work them once more - this time in Father for some quick, squishy, satisfying Rambouillet knitting.

I paired the cable panels with some garter and slipped stitch details this time, adding texture to the fabric and a subtle scallop to the cowl edge. The difference between the motifs is nice and crisp, and the deep color of the Thyme yarn is cozy and bold and springy at the same time.

I still may not be done with these cables, but for now this cowl will be the perfect thing to wear as the weather decides if spring is really about to arrive or not.

And if anyone’s really paying attention, Talisker IS a Scotch whisky. I have a list of new favorite names after visiting Edinburgh…
