This hat is deceptively easy! The pattern is based on an Estonian rib stitch that repeats from bottom to top. The yarnovers and decreases in the stitch pattern combine with the fabric’s natural tendency to curl up at the bottom to form a slightly scalloped edge. Decreases at the top and corkscrew tassels combine for a whimsical finish. This pattern uses a totally different technique from the Clapotis scarf, but produces a similar look and would pair well with it for a gift.

The recommended yarn provides enough yardage to make 2 children’s hats or an adult hat with yarn leftover.
