This hat pattern is based on the Seal of Rassilon, a symbol of the Time Lords from the science fiction show “Doctor Who.” A Celtic knotwork border pattern has been added to the tam to complement the design of the Seal.

December 2010 -- this pattern is now available as a PDF. A few changes were made, to make the pattern more user-friendly. It now uses a different style of decreases, and the border knotwork pattern has been changed to one better suited for stranded knitting.
