Tamangur is an open front cardigan with a seed stitch facing, worked top down with raglan shaping.
First the shawl collar neckband is worked, then stitches for the body are picked up and the cardigan and front facing are worked in one piece from the neckline down. Sleeve stitches are set aside while the body is completed and sleeves are knit in the round down to the seed stitch cuff.
Designed to be roomy enough to wear over a long sleeve shirt and knit in a substantial wool, this will make a sturdy outerwear piece to treasure for years on end. If worked in a softer wool, the cardigan will be like a soft embrace, something you will reach for on those days when you need comfort.
