Inspired by the thick, cloudy skies and hip urban attitude of Portland, this super-chunky billed beanie boasts warmth, style, and loads of textural interest.

Gauge is important but somewhat forgiving as it is a very stretchy hat. Jumps between needle sizes are very large at this gauge, so it is recommended that you use the needle sizes specified unless your gauge is VERY different.

Hometown USA is also an excellent yarn choice for this hat, but you will need slightly more than a single skein - when I made a hat with Hometown USA, I just barely finished the main body of the hat, including the bill, with the first skein, and needed to use the second skein for just the button band.
