This roomy tote is fun to knit and the end result is a beautifully crafted piece.

Traditional designs from Taquile Island pattern this beautiful felted bag. The peaceful island of Taquile lies on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, about four motorboat hours from shore. There, both knitters and weavers excel at making finely detailed textiles.

This felted bag used traditional Andean colors and can be finished using a leather handle, knitted strap or a woven Peruvian belt.
