Tarrytown was a hat born out of pure necessity. My DH was working outside at a job site, and called to let me know how cold he was without a hat on. I felt so bad, knowing that I knit for everyone else, yet had not provided him with a wooly-warm hat to cover his noggin on cold days.
I wanted a tweedy effect, and had some balls of Palette by Knit Picks on hand, and decided to hold two strands of coordinating colors together to achieve both body to the fabric, and some pooling of colors that would be a nice tonal blend. Since the colors of Palette are practically endless, the possibilities of “tweeds” that you could come up with are just as endless!
This is a very simple knit, perfect for those starting to knit in the round, and is a super-fast project for more advanced knitters. Make one, make dozens! Top it with a pom pom, or leave it alone. Totally unisex, and perfect for all ages.
Enjoy!
