One of my favorite fall traditions of my childhood was making a scarecrow to sit by the front door. I now realize that this was a trick my mother used on us kids to get us to rake the leaves. But we still loved it. And our scarecrow was always the same - old flannel shirt, old pair of jeans and a pumpkin head.

Tattie Bogal (the old Scottish/Isle of Skye name for a scarecrow) is my tribute to that beloved childhood tradition.

Directions included for both a standing and seated version.
