This mitt design is reminiscent of the twisting trees in the Tolkien world. The twisted stitch design reminds me of the forest homes of the elves.

The pattern includes both written AND charted instructions.

SIZE: This pattern comes in one size only.
A size 2 needle made a mitt that would adequately fit a L/XL hand with about an 8 inch wrist.
A size 0 needle made a mitt that would adequately fit a small hand with about a 6 inch wrist.

Materials needed:
Your preferred size of needle
Tapestry needle
Fingering weight yarn

• The mitts used about 60 grams of yarn but one of the testers making “small mitts” completed less ribbing and ended up using about 40 grams. It is POSSIBLE to do the mitts in 50 grams or less but you must watch your yarn usage carefully!

Gauge: This depends on what size you wish to make.
The XL: Gauge of 8 stitches and 12 rows per inch
The S: Gauge of 9 stitches and 11.5 rows per inch
