What is better than tea with a good friend? And a knitting designer friend at that! One of my best friends, and as it happens, also my knitting mentor, Anna Maltz, is one of those friends you want to have tea with. Anna is the creator of the Marlisle technique – where two strands of yarn magically become three colours and you never need to worry about any floats. Marlisle gives a pretty dense fabric and it’s perfect for keeping your tea warm! Haven’t tried Marlisle before? Well this is a great first project!

You work this tea cosy from the top down which means that you can adjust the height of the tea cosy to fit perfectly to your own teapot (it’s good if you have a little bit of wiggle room in there!).

The cosy measures 60 cm / 23¾ in circumference and 21 cm / 8¼” in height, although the height is easy to modify.

This tea cosy can be made with any fingering yarn you have in the cupboard. You need at least two colours with a good contrast.
