These little characters are quick to knit, and a super way to use up waste yarn. Make them as brooches, rings, key-rings, pendants, or just as cute mini toys. The pattern includes the monkey, mouse, pigeon and penguin.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the mini toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns and most pieces are worked flat (back and forth) on a pair of single pointed knitting needles. The pigeon’s legs are i-cord worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 4mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 6).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, a handful of toy filling, scraps of white and yellow felt fabric, and black beads for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - 2.5cm to 4cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and a little seaming to finish.
