My friend Vickie Howell achieved an incredibly awesome goal for her new venture, The Knit Show, this month. As I heard the announcement and saw the adorable new logo, I was inspired by her palette and pulled 4 colors of Be So Tender Yarn together last week. I admired the 4 balls of yarn together for a few days before deciding what to make with them. I wanted to be efficient with the use of all the yarn, and wanted to really accentuate colorwork as well. Mini motifs with 2 colors per motif and assorting the placement seemed like a good idea. But I also wanted to appeal to beginner crocheters as well, so the motif is one of the simplest I could think of: grannies! The majority of the concentration involved in this project is keeping track of the color sequence. There is a specific 8 square color sequence for the 4 colors. I think that it is very appealing to the eye and less busy, when you can create a pattern from the colorwork as well.
