Tendril Cowl: Inspired by the way my wisteria plant tendrils out and wraps itself around anything that it can reach, the Tendril Beanie has a raised textural feature that has the illusion of a plant wrapping itself around and wandering up the sides of your beanie. I had the illusion of a cable but it is not a complicated design and doesn’t require a cable needle.

Yarn: 8ply/DK 200gm Mahogany Turtle merino in Spring.
I have written this pattern using 8ply/DK weight. The final dimensions are approx: 25cm wide x 19cm height using 200gms of Mahogany Turtle yarn.
If you would like to make your cowl larger increase the cast on stitches in multiples of 8. You can also make the cowl taller by working more repeats of the body section, more yarn will be required.
If you have a skein that is less or more than 200gms that you want to use you can by weighing your skein to confirm it’s weight, then weigh it again after completing the first rib band. You will then know how much you need to leave to complete the second rib band. Work the body panel with the balance. Final dimensions will vary.

Needles/gauge: 4mm 60cm in length and 3.5mm circulars 60cm length.
Gauge:
10cm = 32st x 36 rows of 1x1 rib in the round blocked, using the 3.5mm needle size. Please use a size .5mm larger for the pattern panel section.
