Designed for the 2016 DFW Yarn Crawl

Hurricane Harvey Relief update - thank you for your generosity! Texas Flood pattern sales generated $75 for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston.

Texas Flood was inspired by the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan and a stormy spring night. It is a light piece that is worked in the round and lays with a nice drape. The lace pattern is easy to remember - just one motif swirling around the cowl without even worrying about where the end of round is.

The sample used five mini skeins of Dye2Spin Merino/Nylon sock yarn in the “Texas Tornado” gradient colorway.

Skill level: intermediate - requires k2tog, travelling stitches, working in the round and being able to read your knitting to keep your place

Yarn requirements: 400-500 yards of fingering weight yarn, either in a mini-skein set or a gradient dyed yarn. Choose a yarn with a nice drape, such as a merino/nylon or merino/silk blend. Using less yarn will result in a finished cowl that is less deep.
